Pets can be a pain in the proverbial at the best of times. Moving pets can pose a unique set of problems that you will hope you never have to deal with again (especially if you’ve got a dog or cat that goes mad as soon as you put it inside a moving vehicle). My advice is that you should get the vet to put down your animals and cut your losses.
Of course, I’m just kidding - just use a gun… it’s cheaper and a clean shot will be less painful for the animal/animals.
But seriously, you have to do something with your pets while you are moving things in out of the house and cats don’t take well to being tied up. You need to consider what you are going to do with them while you are moving and also how you going to move them once you have finished packing.
Cats should never be let outside when you are moving home… (just when you thought it was safe to put down a the piano). It’s also a good idea to keep them inside for at least a week once you are inside your new home. This will give them time to adjust to their new environment. For both cats and dogs, it’s a good idea to have them tagged with your phone number incase they do go ‘walkabout’.
There’s a range of drugs available for dogs and cats that will calm them down for long journeys. Visit http://www.petsuppliesreviews.com for more information about the products which should be readily available.
